I, as provided under
Section 29AA (2) of the Environmental Quality (Amendment) Act 2001, hereby inform that areas throughout the States of Selangor, Pahang and
Johor are declared as Open Burning Prohibited areas effective IMMEDIATELY up to a date that will be told later.
Those convicted of open burning can be fined a maximum of RM500,000 or imprisoned for a term not exceeding 5 years
or both. A maximum compound of RM2,000 can also be imposed for each offense.
Following the notification of this declaration, all parties are strictly prohibited from conducting open burning or allowing land or premises belonging to them to be entered or encroached upon by irresponsible parties so as to cause open burning for a
specific purpose or unintentionally.
