DEPARTMENT ISSUES DETENTION ORDER AGAINST FOREIGN VESSELS SUSPECTED OF LAUNCHING OIL IN NATIONAL WATERS
The Department of Environment (DOE) has issued a Detention Order on March 7, 2021 against a foreign vessel suspected of having released oil in national waters.
The detention was made under Section 48, Environmental Quality Act, 1974 and an investigation under Section 27 of the same act. The Selangor DOE investigation team took recordings of the conversation and examined the ship’s documents to complete the investigation paper.
