The 35^th Meeting of the Malaysia-Singapore Joint Committee on the Environment (MSJCE) was held in Singapore on 26 November 2024.

The Meeting was co-chaired by YBhg. Datuk Dr. Ching Thoo a/l Kim, Secretary General, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability (NRES), Malaysia and Mr. Stanley Loh, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Sustainable and the Environment (MSE), Singapore.

During the 35^th MSJCE meeting, YBhg Dato’ Wan Abdul Latiff bin Wan Jaffar, Director General of Environment, Malaysia as Co-Chair of the 20^th Meeting of the Malaysia-Singapore Joint Committee Working Group (MSJCE WG), has reported the outcome of the meeting held on 4-6 September 2024 in Malaysia regarding environmental issues involving the Strait of Johor (SOJ), pollution control activities and the environmental quality such as motor vehicles, water quality in the waters of the SOJ, management of chemicals and hazardous waste, and matters related to safety and cooperation in emergency management and pollution control of oil and chemical spills and also increasing capacity building through the training institute of both countries, Environment Institute of Malaysia (EiMAS) and Singapore Environment Institute (SEI).

The Malaysian delegation consists of NRES, DOE and agencies under the Ministry, as well as other agencies.
