The 16th Meeting of the Malaysia – Singapore Joint Committee on the Environment (MSJCE) Working Group (WG) was held on 18-19 July 2018 in Putrajaya, Malaysia. Dato’ Dr. Ahmad Kamarulnajuib bin Che Ibrahim, Director- General of Environment, Malaysia and Mr. Ronnie Tay, Chief Executive Officer, National Environment Agency, Singapore co-chaired the meeting. It was organized by Department of Environment, Malaysia.

A total of by 35 delegates from various agencies from Malaysia namely Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Attorney General’s Chambers, Department of Irrigation and Drainage, Johor State Economic Planning Unit, Marine Department, Johor Port Authority and a representative from Ministry Natural Resources and Environment attended the Meeting.

Meanwhile, Singapore was represented by 32 delegates from different agencies namely Public Utilities Board, Ministry of National Development, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Housing and Development Board, Maritime and Port Authority, Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources.

This Meeting serves as an important role for both countries to exchange information and experiences in tackling environmental issues of mutual interest.
