During the 16th AWGEE Meeting, Malaysia reported on its collaboration with GIZ (German Agency for International Cooperation GmbH) and ASEC in assisting AMS to reassess and improve the “ASEAN Guidelines on Eco-Schools,” which have been in use since 2012. This initiative aligns with Malaysia’s experience in implementing the Sustainable Schools Environmental Award (SLAAS) program and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Malaysia also hopes that these guidelines will strengthen cooperation among ASEAN schools. Sharing experiences and best practices can also help AMS enhance the integration of sustainable and environmentally friendly practices in educational institutions.
