THE ACID DEPOSITION MONITORING NETWORK IN EAST ASIA (EANET)

The Acid Deposition Monitoring Network in East Asia (EANET) was formed in 2001 as an intergovernmental initiative to mutually understand the state of the acid deposition problem in East Asia. In addition, EANET aims to provide useful input for decision-making at various levels and promote cooperation between countries. Currently, 13 countries in East Asia participate in EANET. UN Environment Asia Pacific is the Secretariat and the Asian Air Pollution Research Center (ACAP) located in Japan is the Network Center for EANET. Malaysia officially became part of EANET on 23 April 2012.
